Robert N. Weinreb, MD is the Distinguished Professor and Chair of Ophthalmology at the University of California, San Diego. He is also Director of the Shiley Eye Institute, Director of the Hamilton Glaucoma Center, holder of the Morris Gleich, MD Chair of Glaucoma and is appointed as Distinguished Professor of Bioengineering.
A graduate of Harvard Medical School, his diverse research ranges from the front to the back of the eye. He is a past President of the World Glaucoma Association, American Glaucoma Society, ARVO, the Foundation of the American Glaucoma Society, and the Latin American Glaucoma Society. He is Chief Editor of the International Glaucoma Review.
